Family photography survey

What does a family portrait mean to you?

In this ever changing world technology has not only been an asset to help us all in out daily lives but with that comes some downfalls as well. The old days of carefully taking a photo because you knew you only had 36 images on a roll are gone, these 36 images weren't taken for granted like now where we can just delete and start over quickly. Those precious ones caught on film were developed and the ones that "made it" were placed in an album or hung proudly on the walls of the family home. So many photos these days are sitting on a USB in some drawer, or loaded into files on a computer, or worse still lying in a phone that is lost or can no longer be turned on. The convenience of being able to take a photo on a phone and show it to the world immediately and for just a fleeting second to gather a bunch of likes - has taken over the importance of traditional family portraiture, hiring a photographer to capture your entire family together - all in one frame - Mum or Dad not missing from having to take the photo, then carefully processing your images for you to choose which ones will hang on your walls for the kids to walk past and see everyday and be reminded of the family unit they belong to.

I've created a short survey below regarding your thoughts on family photography. What can we as photographers improve on? How can we make family photography accessible to everyone?

Please take the time to fill in the survey, copy and paste the link into a new window, most questions are just multiple choice. Thanks for your time.
